My grandmother (affectionately known as Maw Maw by the family) is 92 yrs young this Oct, and has decided to move to Evansville, IN to be closer to the family for the rest of her days. I am so happy and glad that she is here. Although I haven't seen her yet, because she arrived late this afternoon and I had work and class until late this evening, I love her very much and look forward to spending as much time with her as possible.
My dad's mother, Mur, died while I was a babe, and although I honor her in my heart, I never really knew her. I thought it was strange and was confused when I was younger about why did some people have two sets of grandparents when I only had one? My grandfather on my dad's side died when my dad was a young boy. I see the loss on my dad's side and how it has affected my uncles and my cousins who still reside in the south.
I see Maw Maw's coming here as a real blessing for me, she could have chosen to go to Indianapolis where my other aunt lives, but she chose to come here, and I intend to take full advantage of whatever time I have left with her. She is strong and healthy for a 92 yr old, and is living in the retirement section of the residence home! I tell people at my church that she is a healthy as the Prophet! (Pres Gordon B Hinckley of the LDS Church is 97 yrs old and still running the church)
Have a great week! ~Angela
