Engineering the Impossible

There is a TV show on cable that I ran across today as I was flipping thru the channels...It is called "Engineering the Impossible" It spoke of two projects that seem rather fantastic in idea and incomprehensible in the amount of time and resources that it would take to build...

The first is the Millinium Building, it is planned for Hong Kong Harbor and would take nearly a decade in time to build and use more steel than the country of Japan can create within a year's time. It would be the tallest sky scraper ever built, and would be cone shaped in order to withstand the wind. They were saying that it would take resources and workers from all over the world to build this building, over a thousand of them!

The second idea discussed is called the"Freedom Ship" it is a floating city that would be like a gigantic cruise ship which would have the ability to float from port to port out on the open seas. This vessel would be a mile across and 3 city blocks wide. It would contain a school and a hospital as well as shops and restaurants on the boat, as if it were a city within itself.

Some may scoff at these ideas, but didn't our forefathers scoff at the idea of an interstate that had no stop signs or traffic lights? And before the 1920's the highest building ever built was only 5 stories tall.

The problems I see for these projects are both the same, Mother Nature! No one knows how to calm the seas! Both projects would cost billions of dollars to create. What if the Freedom Ship had navigation problems not thought of in it's creation, or the cone shape of the Millinium building can not withstand the force of the wind gusts at the height of 1 mile into the sky, as it is proposed? The engineers are not blind to these facts and I believe they are taking them into consideration. it will be interesting to see if these projects actually make it into the water and off the drawing board within the next decade.

Disappointed in COLD CASE

Tonight there was an episode of COLD CASE that was so atrocious it showed have never been aired! It attacks the beliefs of the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS.

It made its prime suspect to be a young Mormon man from Utah who was visiting an aunt for the summer. He was just trying to make it in a big city, and the people that he encountered were crude, crass, dis respective of the LORD, and they shamelessly made fun of our sacred acts of worship as well as the Prophet Joseph Smith, who founded our Church back in the 1800's

The script had people taking the Lord's name in vain and glorifying a film called the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" Which Promotes sexual promiscuity, homosexuality, transvestites and other immoral and impure practices.
I made a comment on another blog recently about how it seems that the devil is saying that it is okay to commit every immoral act because "every body's doing it" and trying his hardest to make the Lord's Commands be viewed as too restrictive and archaic and should be done away with. When will the Christians rise up together in one accord and tell the world that is trying to make us into the bad guys that it is "ENOUGH!!!" We have a responsibility to protect for future generations the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is too important, we cannot fail! Please, if there is nothing more you can do, at least pray for the mindset of our Country. As the Singer Carmen said many years ago, we "Need GOD in America again" Please pray for our leaders, and for those in charge of media and TV programming, that they will stand up for what is right, and not be phased by what is easy or will bring in the most money....
Thank you!

What the Evil One Doesn't Want You to Know!

Some people will tell you that there is no force of Darkness, that there is no devil, and that this is just a creation of the imagination of the Christian Dogma....IF it were just in the imagination of a "Few deluted fools" then please explain to me the reason for the murders and corruptions in the world? Some would say that it is the work of man...I would then ask where these "imaginations" started, if not from a source....
Here are my answers to some of the questions concerning the source of evil in the world....
In the Beginning, GOD created Adam and Eve and placed them in the Garden of Eden...Then Lucifer, a son of the morning, who was steeped in rebellion of authority tempted Eve into partaking the fruit of knowledge of Good and Evil. This account can be found in the book of Genesis in both the Torah and the Christian Old Testament. The next thing mentioned in the temptation of man is Lucifer, now called satan or the Devil in the Bible seducing Cain to offer for a sacrifice an offering that was not prescribed by the LORD as being such. Satan then told Cain that the LORD's not accepting the offering was the LORD rejecting Cain and that Cain was not worthy enough to be with the LORD. This is not the case in my opinion. The LORD was just telling Cain what was correct in His site, trying to chastise him as a loving father would his child to teach him correct behavior.....but then, satan wispered into the mind of Cain that GOD would Never Love Cain the way that GOD loved Abel, and that Cain would never be good enough and would alwaysbe second best...These words roused Cain to Anger and in his rage, he plotted the first murder in recorded history. The instigator behind the attrocities in the world is a malicious evil that will lie, manipulate and destroy as many people as possible. Satan has caused wars, murder, and other atrocities to both individuals and whole civilizations.
But this is the Truth that Satan does not want us to know, we have more authority than him. We outrank him! We are all Children of our Heavenly Father and if there is something facing us that we can't handle, if we just Pray to Our Father in Heaven for guidance, and learn how to trust one another, then we can and will have the victory over the situation By the Grace, Power, and love of Our Heavenly Father! Jesus Christ is the One who secured this victory by His sacrifice of His own Life in a ransom for others. It is by the power of his precious blood that all are redeemed! We accepted the plan of salvation before we came to this earth when we existed in the Heavenlies. This is why we have a body, we accepted the challenge to learn and see for ourselves in this world if we would truly remain on the LORD's side!
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then Pray to Him for enlightenment concerning whatever situation may be facing you, and find His Peace and Presence in the midst of your struggle.
If you are not a believer in Christ, but do believe in GOD (Heavenly Father) whatever name you call upon for HIM, seek HIM and ask concerning the truthfulness of this post.
THE BIGGEST SECRET that Satan DOES NOT want humanity to know, is that if we submit ourselves as a people again to GOD and seek HIM with all our HEART MIND SOUL AND STRENGTH, that the Devil must and will flee from our presence! Not Because of who we are, but because HEAVENLY FATHER inhabits the praises of HIS PEOPLE! And More importantly, where the Spirit of the LORD is the Devil Cannot be! Perhaps one day, this world will completely embrace this truth, but until then, pray not only for yourselves and the ones that you love, but pray for our leaders to have wisdom, and for peace in this world. And More importantly, pray for those who would do you harm. Pray for understanding not only for yourself, but also for those of other faiths who do not believe as you do. Prayer changes things, one person at a time....Are you willing to submit yourself to the Spirit of GOD and His Grace? Are you willing to be an instrument of Peace? Are you willing to stand against the Powers of Darkness and tell them in the name of the LORD that it is enough? Back in the early 1980's a man of Hindu faith chose such a path....IF Ghandi can do it, why not us? IF one man can do it, then why not a nation?
We as a people need to quit arguing over names of GOD and focus on the Spirit of GOD, once we do that, then I believe we will begin to have peace...GOD BLESS!

Tired of Being Overweight?

I have had health problems most of my adult life, and the medications that I have received to help improve my health has had weight gain as a side effect. A few years ago, I was around 350 lbs and had had enough! I felt awful and looked worse! I decided that a change was necessary, but I also recognised that I could not lose the weight alone. So here are the steps that I took which has helped me to lose over 80 lbs to date, and I'm still losing!
1) I got in contact with my drs. I told them that I was not happy with my health and that I needed help to lose the weight. One switched some of the medications around that I had been on, which helped some, the other contacted an endocrinologist when test results were showing that I was borderline diabetic, and I had other hormonal problems which were effecting me as well. SO ALWAYS, go to the Dr and get the assistance that you need.
2) Recognize that the weight did not get onto your body overnight, and it will not come off over night either! Remember that losing weight takes time and discipline.
3) Eat BREAKFAST!!! If you do not eat something healthy within the first 30 minutes of getting up, it will eventually slow your metabolism down and cause you to gain weight! It effects your mood, your energy levels and will tell your body to store food because your body doesn't believe it will be nourished for a while. I am not a big breakfast eater, but I do my best to east a piece of cheese toast on wheat bread before I rush off to work. Something, anything is better than nothing at all!
4) Stay away from simple carbohydrates! These are all potato products (chips, french fries, white pastas, and white breads) These break down into sugar quickly, but do not last long in your body and must be replaced quickly if there is no other sustanance along with it. Look for breads that have grain in them, they take longer to break down in your system and are healthier for you altogther.
5) Be Positive! Maintaining weight and not gaining any is a victory in itself. Sometimes your body will hit a "plateau" where you do not gain or lose weight, but during this time period, you may lose in clothes size...also remember that muscle weighs more than fat.
6) Everyone says that you need to exercise, but lets be honest about time constraints...there are several of us who just don't have the time for formal exercise, so try parking a little further out at the grocery store so you have to walk to the door. If you are in college, carry more than one class subject of books at a time using your bookbag only for your notebooks. One Dr. told me that walking 30 mins a day would do, and the thirty minutes does not have to be all at once!
If you limit your simple carbohydrate intake, eat breakfast in the morning, and drink more water on a regular basis, I'm confident that these simple steps will help you as well, but most importantly, do not try any diet pills, or other diet gimmicks without consulting your Dr!
Help is out there, and your Dr is the one who knows you best, so use his knowledge and let him/her help you on a road to better health!
God Bless!

When You Hate Your Job

I have been working at the same job for over 4 years now, I have gone to college and received an AAS in Accounting, but, in the area that I live, this is not enough because the area is swamped with qualified workers all trying to get the same jobs.

Although at first, I looked at my current employment as a blessing, in my heart I know it is close to time to my moving on to do other things and yet, I seem stuck in a rut, and it has caused some tension for me, which has reflected in my attitude towards one of the managers on my team.... I trained her in, and now she's my boss, and she is younger than me....This has been a real test not only of my patience, but also of my pride.

I am learning to not look at the situation as it is, to truly step out of the box, so to speak, and embrace this challenge. I see it as really building my character and helping me learn how to be patient and how to humble myself and listen to the manager, even though we have not gotten along in the past.

So from practical experience, my advice to anyone in a similiar situation, try and look first at yourself and see if there is anything that you can do to try and correct the problem. There is a lesson for each of us with every situation that we encounter. Just do your best and don't give up. Also, it wouldn't hurt to pray about it, and reflect on the situation that is bothering you.
Ask yourself what is it that bothers you about it, and what, if anything can you do to alleviate your stress level.
Remember that you are being a witness to everyone that you come into contact with. Especially if you are a person of faith. It doesn't matter what religion you belong to, or what name you use to call upon GOD the FATHER of us all. I challenge whomever reads this page to
LIVE their faith 24 hrs a day 7 days a week, and pray for the person who gets under your skin the most! Who knows, perhaps by your witness to them, they will one day become a member of your religion because of your testimony. Your testimony doesn't need to be you sharing scriptures or trying to teach them by mouth, but more covertly, it could be that your actions will testify louder than any words you could ever say.
Hope this is helpful to someone out there!
